Hyundai Rotem is a global heavy industry company that specializes in manufacturing rolling stock, military equipment and plant engineering. It is able to produce all types of rolling stock, including electric multiple units (EMUs), high-speed trains, engine locomotives, wireless trams and magnetic levitation (maglev) trains. In addition, it is ushering in the new era of eco-friendly hydrogen fuel by developing trains powered by hydrogen fuel cells along with hydrogen infrastructure and hydrogen markets. Further, its industrial wearable robot technology that assists field workers is proving to be a game changer at sites such as automobile production lines and steel mills. Also, Hyundai Rotem is contributing to national security by developing smart, unmanned weapon systems along with tanks and other types of armored vehicles.

About the role :

  • Support the Local Engineers and Korean Subject Matter Experts (SME) in Technical Writing activities (reviewing, editing etc.) enabling the submission/confirmation of designs documents to be met on time, whilst maintaining high quality.

  • Ensure that the technical requirements for each project milestone have been clearly understood in order to identify and prioritize design deliverables and verification activities.

  • Responsible for administrative tasks, monitoring and progress reporting of deliverables to Engineering and Project Management Team for an assessment of project plan feasibility in order to help update the Integrated Delivery Program (IDP) progressively.

  • Establish clear lines of communication and promote regular exchanges with the client (TMR) and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues and expedite required design deliverables for seamless project progression.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience on delivery, introduction in service and contract management on major rolling stock projects

  • Excellent leadership and management skills to lead and manage internal and external stakeholders.

  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills, including presentations to external stakeholders.

  • Excellent written/verbal Korean communication skills, including presentations to external stakeholders.

  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team and independently to organise and prioritise demands.

  • Strong planning skills to handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands.

  • Proficient skills in computers: MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Email.

  • Knowledge of legal terminology and contract management

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a commercial management role within railway industry  of 5 years’ experience in a commercial management role within railway industry.
