About the role :

  • Responding to and make telephone calls and making file notes;

  • Preparing new client files, client service agreements, letters of engagement and disclosure notices;

  • Drafting routine and non-routine documents and sending them to clients and relevant parties;

  • Collecting and files documents in the hardcopy file and in Leap, and forwarding them on to relevant parties;

  • Researching on client cases if required by the solicitors/lawyers;

  • Liaising with third parties and various bodies on case matters;

  • Preparing and drafting documentation for client cases and following up case matters as required;

  • Drafting relevant claim forms or application forms;

  • Identifying and report problems, investigating, determining optimal solution, implementing solution, evaluating and reporting on effectiveness of solution and related outcomes to solicitors/lawyers;

  • Providing routine support, guidance and information to clients as requested, and where appropriate (not legal advice);

  • Creating and maintaining client’s files;

  • Assisting with translations in Chinese and/or Korean;

  • Providing information and advice to promote the products/services of the firm by being able to clarify specific needs of a client, provide information and advice and follow up;

  • Making appointments and bookings on behalf of another;

  • Exhibiting a basic understanding of different areas of law as they are dealt with, within the firm or between firms or between the firm and legal institutions for means of referral; 

  • Attending Any other reasonable duties as required

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to convey information effectively

  • A second language may be an advantage (Chinese or Korean)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook)

  • Excellent critical thinking and evaluation skills

  • Strong organisational and time management skills

  • Advanced client management skills

  • Over 1 year of work experience

Job Type: Full time permanent

Salary: Upon offer (Be aware of the Australian minimum wage of AUD20.33/hr)

Schedule:

  • 38 hours / week (Full time)
